  THE PROPHET

The Prophet is presented as a question and answer session to the wise man Almustafa, just before he sets off on a return journey to his homeland.

 

In the next pages I have chosen a small passage from each of his replies on the subjects requested.  I have then approached the passage from a viewpoint of how I could interpret his message today and try to incorporate my ‘feeling’ of it into my life.  

 

Obviously to embrace the context of his beautiful text completely one would have to listen or read through the whole book (which I strongly encourage).  However I hope that the short excerpts will be enough to enable some appreciation of the poetry and deep meaning of this work.

 

Although this is a completely personal view of how the book can be translated my aim is to provide a platform for others to think of their opinions and what it may mean to them.
